Two things come to mind when describing my first stay and an B&B.

Wow! Why haven’t I tried this before and what difference in the service.
I was amazed because I usually vacation with my family in Hyannis, Massachusetts and even though the destination was the same, what a big difference was in staying in a bed and breakfast instead of a conventional hotel. This was the first time that I really enjoyed my vacation.

So what is the big difference? I am glad you asked:

Most bed and breakfasts are owned and operate by the innkeepers. The level of the customer service that you will attain in a B&B will not be match by any employee of a big chain hotel. From the receptionist that is having a bad day to the room service that want you to leave the room so they can clean it. At a Bed and breakfast you really feel like an special guest. The innkeepers go out of their way to make sure that you have the best time while staying at their Inn.

If you want to find out more about the city, they will gladly sit down at the coffee table with you for hours giving information about the best points and attractions in town, the best restaurant and even the history and how their little town have change over the years.

And when you find the perfect bed and breakfast, you will see yourself returning over the years to the same place. The innkeepers by now will feel part of the family and they will know you and your family by name.

Is definitely not cliché the statement that picking the right place to stay while vacationing is as important as the destination. I am now a repeat customer of bed and breakfast inns, the coziness and the personalized services are responsible for the best and most romantic vacations I ever had.
